In addition, there are another 55 miles of river and Intracostal Waterway awaiting your enjoyment.   Area parks, many beach front, provide a wide range of relaxation and recreation opportunities.  These include parks with guarded white sandy beaches, picnicking and other facilities.

 

Blowing Rocks Preserve

This barrier island preserve features natural limestone formations that often send saltwater geysers skyword.  There is limited parking and no facilities.  Location: County Road 707, Jupiter Island

 

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary

A non-profit organization dedicated to the protection & conservation of Florida's wildlife and natural resources. The Sanctuary's trails and boardwalks offer visitors an opportunity to see native wildlife up-close while exploring natural habitats.  Open Monday - Saturday, closed Sunday.  Closed for all major holidays.  2500 Jupiter Park Drive, Jupiter.  www.buschwildlife.com.

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens 

Since its opening in 1977, The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens has been a center for Japanese arts and culture in South Florida, with rotating exhibitions in its galleries, tea ceremonies performed monthly in its Seishin-an tea house, an educational outreach program with local schools and organizations, and Japanese traditional festivals celebrated for the public several times a year.  4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach. Mounts Botanical Garden

Norton Museum of Art

Palm Beach Zoo

Riverbend Park

Riverbend Park is considered by most to be a jewel in Palm Beach County's park system.  Five miles of waterways and fifteen miles of access roads and trails have been carved into over 680 acres of diverse marsh and subtropical terrain making this park a resource for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking.  Gateway to the Loxahatchee National Wild and Senic River.  Historically significant Loxahatchee Battlefield.  Self-guided trails  are open 7 days a week from sunrise to one hour before sunset.  Canoe and bicycle rental. South side of Indiantown Road about one mile west of Florida's Turnpike.  www.pbcgov.com/parks/locations/riverbend.htm

 

Sunfest -Where Music Meets the Waterfront

West Palm Beach's Sunfest.  Founded in 1982, SunFest is Florida's largest waterfront music and art festival. Held annually in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida the first week in May, SunFest attracts more than 275,000 visitors.
